Peer Review Policy

Modern Insights in Literature, Arts & Linguistics (MILAL) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, objectivity, and transparency in the evaluation of submitted manuscripts. To ensure rigorous quality control, the journal follows a double-blind peer review system, in which both reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout the process.

 

Initial Screening

  • All submitted manuscripts are first assessed by the Editorial Team for relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, originality, clarity of argument, and compliance with submission guidelines.
  • Manuscripts failing to meet basic scholarly or formatting standards may be returned to authors for revision or declined without external review.

 

Review Process

  • Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are subject experts in the fields of literature, arts, or linguistics.
  • Reviewers are chosen on the basis of academic expertise, impartiality, and absence of any conflict of interest.
  • The review process is intended to be constructive, fair, and timely, helping authors refine the quality, clarity, and originality of their work.

 

Reviewer Guidelines

  • Reviewers are expected to provide detailed, evidence-based, and constructive feedback within 4–6 weeks of receiving the manuscript.
  • Evaluations are based on:
    • Originality and significance of the contribution
    • Theoretical and/or methodological rigor
    • Clarity and coherence of argument or analysis
    • Relevance to the fields of literature, arts, or linguistics
    • Ethical compliance and proper referencing
  • All reviewer reports are treated with strict confidentiality and are shared only with the editorial team and the corresponding author.

 

Editorial Decisions

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial decision may be one of the following:

  1. Accept (without revisions)
  2. Accept with Minor Revisions
  3. Major Revisions Required (resubmission for further review)
  4. Reject

The final decision rests with the Chief Editor, who considers reviewers’ reports, authors’ responses, and the manuscript’s overall contribution to the journal’s mission.

 

Appeals and Resubmissions

  • Authors may appeal an editorial decision by contacting the editorial office with a detailed justification.
  • Resubmitted manuscripts are reconsidered based on revised content, author response, and reviewers’ feedback.
